Pre-Wash
Your bundles may have been in packaging during transit, so a little refresh goes a long way.
- Co-wash (conditioner only) before your first install to rehydrate the hair.
- Use a paraben- and sulfate-free conditioner and let it sit for at least 10–15 minutes.
- For deep conditioning, you can leave a mask on for 12–24 hours for an ultra-soft finish. We recommend Slicone mix.
- Avoid applying conditioner directly to the lace knots of frontals or closures – apply it at least an inch away to prevent loosening and shedding.
Washing & Conditioning
To keep your Emore Hair clean and nourished:
- Wash your hair every 2–3 weeks with a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. If using a lot of product and wearing lace system and bundles everyday. Overwashing can dry out your hair.
- Always use lukewarm water – never extremely hot – as hot water can weaken knots and cause shedding.
- Gently detangle with a brush or wide-tooth comb, working from the ends up.
Styling & Heat Care
- Limit the use of heat tools such as straighteners, curling irons, and blow dryers.
- When heat styling is necessary, always apply a heat protectant beforehand.
- Excessive heat over time can cause dryness and reduce the lifespan of your hair.
Shine & Moisture
- Use a light amount of hair oil or serum to add shine and lock in moisture.
- Focus on the ends and mid-lengths – avoid the roots and lace areas.
- A little goes a long way – too much product can leave your bundles greasy.
What to Avoid
- Do not bleach your knots excessively. This weakens the lace and causes balding or shedding.
- Avoid cutting your wefts/tracks. If you must cut them, seal the ends with a weft sealer.
- Never use products that contain alcohol. They strip the hair and dry it out.
- Avoid heavy product buildup on the lace. Clean gently using a mild cleanser when needed.
